DIY Dreams Come True at the Calgary Renovation Show Workshop Series

Feeling the urge to refresh and reimagine your home for the year ahead? We’ve got you covered. Get creative while getting your hands just a little dirty with help from the pros at the upcoming Calgary Renovation Show. The design experts of Interiors to Inspire will be leading a DIY-reno Workshop Series, including hands-on how-to’s on cabinet rehab, shiplap walls and upcycling furniture. It’s time to bring your Pinterest boards to life as you learn and try your hand at these fun, budget-friendly projects, with guidance from Calgary's favourite custom decorative painting artists.
Whether you’re looking to revamp your kitchen or add a touch of character to your bedroom, there’s a workshop for every home and every budget. Don’t worry if you’re not crafty, the Workshops are open to all skill levels, with the Interiors to Inspire team on hand help. You can sign up for your favourite workshops here! Cabinet Rehab Workshop
Is your kitchen a little dark, drab or stuck in another decade? Update it without breaking the bank on new cabinets. The Cabinet Rehab Workshop will teach you how to restyle your current cabinetry with a variety of paints and glazes. During this hands on class, you’ll get the chance to work on a cabinet door to practice various paint and stain techniques, step-by-step, to help you achieve your dream cabinets, covering the whole process right from prep to painting to finishing touches. You’ll get to try your hand with products like Chalk Paint™ by Annie Sloan and General Finishes Stains and Glazes.
Furniture Rehab Workshop
Is your furniture looking a little worn? Do you have a vintage piece that needs a little love? The Furniture Rehab Workshop will teach you how to change the look of your furniture and accessories using different paint and stain techniques. Each student will get the chance to practice the various paint and stain techniques on a wooden crate. The focus will be on teaching you how to refinish your furniture using products like Chalk Paint™ by Annie Sloan and General Finishes Stains, Glazes and Sealers.
Shiplap/Barnwood
Love the look of a worn, rustic shiplap or barnwood wall? No need to go on the hunt for dilapidated barns to steal from, you can recreate the look of barnwood using different paint and stain techniques. This workshop will show you how to create that awesome feature wall you've been dreaming of. Watch, learn and try as one of the Interiors to Inspire artists guides you through the steps to create a rustic wood look from new wood. During this hands-on class, each student will have pieces of shiplap (wood) to practice the various paint and stain techniques needed to create an impressive feature wall or refinish furniture and accessories. Plus, you'll receive instructions on how to install your shiplap wall along with the samples they make during the workshop.
